Singular Verdejo. La Malcorta is an almost extinct clone of Verdejo, rescued by Javier Sanz Viticultor after years of research. Its name comes from the difficulty of its harvest, which led it to oblivion for decades.
Today, this exceptional grape shines again thanks to its aromatic elegance, its high natural acidity and its extraordinary aging capacity. After a manual harvest, the must is cold macerated, decanted by gravity and fermented slowly at less than 15°C, preserving its delicate fruity aromas. The result is a vibrant, long-lived wine that pays homage to a varietal jewel rescued from time.
Malcorta is a surprising wine in nuances, floral, citric, with a pleasant natural acidity and a marked persistence. Bright pale straw yellow color.
On the nose, it shows very clean and intense aromas. Aromas of citrus, white flowers, stone fruits, with soft mineral notes.
In the mouth, it stands out for its marked acidity, which accentuates its fresh and lively character. Its lively character and freshness combine perfectly with seafood, shellfish, white-fleshed fish such as hake, cod or sole, grilled or baked.
